A 14-day-old baby boy, identified only as Izzy Haziq, was found in the Baby Hatch of Borneo Medical Centre (BMC) on June 15.

According to a police report lodged by medical officer Dr Nurul Akma Laili Ramli, the infant was left fully clothed, with a bottle of milk and a handwritten note stating: “IZZY HAZIQ (M), 14/6/2025 @ 11.40 PM”.

After receiving medical care at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), the baby has been placed in a safe location at Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah Children’s Home, under the care of the Kuching District Social Welfare Office.

The Social Welfare Department is appealing to the public for information on the child’s family.

The department plans to present a Child Protector’s report at the Kuching Child Court on August 6, to determine the child’s placement and arrange for the registration of his birth certificate.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Child Protector Puan Nurkhuzaimah Abdullah at 082-507111 or 082-507999, or via email at nurkhuzaimah@jkm.gov.my.
