KUCHING: The Pre-Council Meeting held on Sunday (March 1) in Kuala Lumpur served as an early coordination and consolidation platform ahead of the Technical Committee Meeting under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 Implementation Action Council (MTPMA63).

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan chaired the Pre-Council Meeting, which was held in preparation for the MTPMA63 meeting scheduled to take place at Parliament today.

The meeting served as an important platform to ensure that all technical and legal issues related to the implementation of MA63 are thoroughly examined, while strengthening Sarawak’s unified stance in safeguarding the state’s rights and interests at the federal level.

This early coordination step reflects the Sarawak government’s continued commitment to ensuring that all negotiations and decisions discussed at the MTPMA63 level are carried out in an orderly, fact-based manner and guided by a clear legal framework.
