KUCHING: A special organising committee meeting was convened to assess preparations for and the progress of Borneo International Halal Showcase (BIHAS) 2026.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who chaired the meeting, said as BIHAS 2026 gathered momentum, the programme must serve as more than a trade showcase, positioning itself as a strategic platform to strengthen Sarawak’s footprint in the global halal industry.
Committee members presented detailed programme components, with discussions focusing on the trade exhibition’s concept and promotional strategies to ensure it achieves its intended targets.
He stressed the importance of close coordination among agencies and logistical readiness to guarantee smooth implementation.
Awang Tengah added that BIHAS 2026 should not only highlight halal products and services, but also attract investments, widen market access and enhance the competitiveness of local entrepreneurs.
With thorough planning and a clear vision, he expressed confidence that the event can further elevate Sarawak’s standing in the global halal landscape.
