LAWAS: The allocation of RM15.8 billion in the State Budget 2025 is a testament to the Sarawak Government’s strong commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its people.

In stating this, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, said that the state government remains dedicated to ensuring the well-being of its citizens through comprehensive policies and holistic development across various sectors.

He added that this year’s Sarawak Budget is the largest in the state’s history, allowing for meticulous planning to benefit the entire population, including those in rural areas.

“No other state is like Sarawak because we are strong and politically stable.

Awang Tengah delivers his speech.

“This enables us to plan carefully while taking into account the perspectives of all communities in the state,” he said during his speech at the UKAS Bersama Komuniti Semarak Ramadan 2025 programme here yesterday (Mar 14).

Awang Tengah said that with the approved budget, it would ensure that the B40 and M40 income groups are not left behind.

“This is because with the allocation of over RM450 million through the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS), it allowed approximately 850,000 Sarawakians to purchase essential goods from registered stores under the programme,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also praised the UKAS Bersama Komuniti Semarak Ramadan 2025 programme, stating that it serves as an important platform for clearly and transparently conveying government policies to the public.

In the context of Ramadan, he reminded that this sacred month is not only a time to strengthen faith and devotion but also an opportunity to enhance unity and foster cooperation within the community.
