KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM Sarawak) has been recognised as one of the Top 30 finalists at the 2025 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia Sustainable Development Award (SDA) under Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.

AZAM Sarawak chief executive officer (CEO) Ali Suhaili said the recognition marks an important milestone for the organisation.

“We are grateful that our modest efforts in Sarawak have received national attention.

“This recognition is not only for AZAM, but also for every youth, community partner, and volunteer who has moved forward together under the spirit of the Movement for Progress,” he said in a statement issued by AZAM Sarawak today (Sept 23).

He added that this achievement will serve as a catalyst for AZAM Sarawak to strengthen its mission of empowering youth and communities, including expanding outreach to rural areas,
deepening collaboration with strategic partners, and exploring innovative approaches in education and development communication.

“Even though we did not take home the top award, being among the Top 30 finalists is already a highly meaningful achievement. It reinforces AZAM Sarawak’s role as a trusted platform in shaping visionary and competitive young leaders,” he said.

Meanwhile, Strategic Communication, Media & Youth Relations manager Mohd Hassnal Hakim Junaidi said the achievement reflects AZAM Sarawak’s consistent efforts spanning more than four decades.

“For the past 42 years, AZAM Sarawak has implemented a wide range of impactful programmes involving youth, women, media, and grassroots leaders.

“We have always played the role of a bridge for development communication in the state, and our participation in SDA 2025 proves that these efforts are now recognised at the national level,” he said.
