JAKARTA: A delegation from Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak recently visited the headquarters of MNC Media, Indonesia’s largest and most integrated media group.
The visit is part of efforts to strengthen Sarawak’s media and communication capabilities.
The visit offered AZAM valuable insights into the operations of the top private media conglomerate, which spans television, radio, print, and digital platforms across the Indonesian media landscape.
AZAM Sarawak chief executive officer Ali Suhaili described the experience as an “eye-opener”, noting how MNC Media has embraced digital transformation while maintaining content that resonates with Indonesia’s diverse audiences.
“It is inspiring to see how media organisations in Indonesia are adapting swiftly to the digital era. There is much we can learn from our neighbours to enrich Sarawak’s own communication landscape,” he said.
Manager of strategic communication, media and youth relations Hassnal Hakim echoed the sentiment, saying the exposure reaffirmed AZAM’s commitment to cross-border learning and global benchmarking.
“Witnessing MNC’s ecosystem, from its digital transformation to its well-coordinated broadcast units, gave us a clearer understanding of the operational excellence demanded in modern media.
“It reinforces our goal of equipping Sarawak’s media practitioners with international exposure and current skills,” he said.
The visit aligns with AZAM Sarawak’s ongoing mission to promote development communication and foster capacity-building among Sarawak’s communicators, media partners, and youth leaders.
By forging links with leading regional media entities like MNC, AZAM aims to unlock new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and growth in the state’s evolving media landscape.
