KUALA LUMPUR: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak paid a courtesy call on the federal Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Adam Adli Abd Halim, at his office in Putrajaya today.
The visit, led by AZAM Sarawak board member, Norjanah Razali, was joined by Chief Executive Officer, Ali Suhaili; Strategic Communication, Media and Youth Relations Manager, Hassnal Hakim; and several AZAM officers.
The meeting centred on youth development initiatives in Sarawak and explored opportunities for collaboration with the ministry to enhance youth engagement, leadership and innovation.
Through its youth platform, AZAM Young Souls (AYS), AZAM Sarawak continues to play an active role in empowering young leaders and changemakers across the state.
AYS has organised numerous community development and capacity-building programmes, and this year, they made a mark at the ‘ASEAN Seeds for the Future’ (ASUF) programme last August representing Sarawak at the regional level.
Ali expressed optimism about strengthening partnerships with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, noting that greater cooperation between federal and state-level agencies would better empower Sarawak’s youth.
“We believe that strong partnerships can further empower Sarawak’s young generation to become innovative, resilient and globally competitive,” he said.
“Through AYS, we aim to give Sarawakian youth the exposure, confidence and skills needed to contribute to the state’s vision under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.”
Echoing his remarks, Hassnal highlighted the importance of continuous engagement with youth from all backgrounds.
“Youth empowerment goes beyond training, it’s about giving young people the space to lead, express, and innovate,” he said.
“AYS has become a vibrant platform for young Sarawakians to voice their aspirations and participate actively at both local and regional levels.”
The courtesy call underscores AZAM Sarawak’s commitment towards cultivating leadership, innovation and social awareness among Sarawak’s younger generation, while strengthening its ties with national youth development bodies.
