MUKAH: Thirty people took part in a 3D Pen Creative Workshop organised by Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak in conjunction with Pesta Kaul Mukah 2026.

The half-day programme, held in collaboration with Persatuan Melanau Mukah, brought together participants as young as seven to 35, reflecting an inclusive approach to expanding access to technology-based learning.

Participants were introduced to 3D pens, tools that allow ideas to be transformed into three-dimensional creations in a direct and interactive manner.

The workshop also emphasised creative design fundamentals, while fostering innovation, problem-solving skills and confidence in using new technologies.

Many of the creations produced during the session were inspired by local elements, including Mukah’s cultural identity, environment, and aspirations to be a smart city and digital economy hub.

The programme was attended by Telian assemblyman Royston Valentine, who also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Pesta Kaul 2026 organising committee.

AZAM Sarawak chief executive officer Ali Suhaili said initiatives such as the workshop are essential to ensure communities, particularly youths, remain relevant in the digital era.

“Programmes like this not only introduce technology, but also provide a platform for youths to think creatively, build confidence and recognise their potential in a future driven by digital innovation,” he said.

Meanwhile, AZAM Sarawak Strategic Communication, Media and Youth Relations manager Mohd Hassnal Hakim Junaidi said experiential learning remains one of the most effective ways to engage communities.

“At AZAM, communication is not just about delivering information, but about creating meaningful experiences that shape thinking and open up opportunities.

“This workshop shows how technology can be used as a practical tool to unlock youth potential,” he said.
