Azri, Azan win Oya doubles title

MUKAH: Azri Jeffery and Azan were champions of the men’s doubles of the Oya Closed Badminton Championship organised by Oya Badminton Club (KBO) 2017 whe they won in the final held at Oya Multipurpose Hall, here, recently.

The chairman of the organising committee and also chairman of the Bureau, Jefery Lily said

a total of 12 pairs competed for the title.

The pair Mustapha and Lee finished second and the pairs of Hafiz Saili-Ho Zee Ming and Sahmin-Awang Aini were joint third.

The champions of the doubles event won a cash prize of RM220, runners-up received RM80 and joint third place took home cash prize of RM50 each. 

In the singles category, the first place was won by Abdul Dzikri Jeffery who received a cash prize of  RM100. Hafiz Saili was second to get a cash prize of RM50.00

A total of 10 shuttlers took part in the singles competition that lasted two days.

According Jefery Lily, this is the opening tournament of 2017 and KBO hoped that participation in future will continue encouragingly.

He added that the next KBO will host a 1st Mukah Closed Badminton Championship 2017 scheduled on the April 29 and 30 and May 1.
