LUBOK ANTU: Sarawak is committed to balanced development, integrating economic, educational and social programmes to benefit people statewide, especially in rural communities.
Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, said the state’s development agenda goes beyond economic growth, encompassing social and educational initiatives to empower communities holistically.
He made the remarks during a 2026 Chinese New Year visit to Kampung Hulu on Friday, which not only brought festive cheer in a spirit of ‘muhibbah’ (goodwill) but also strengthened ties between leaders and the people, demonstrating continuous support for local development.
During the event, Mussen who is also Batang Ai state assemblyman, announced RM15,000 in allocations under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and Minor Rural Projects (MRP) to fund community activities and development needs.
“The allocation reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring village development is not overlooked, supporting efforts to raise living standards at all levels,” he said.
