KAPIT: The annual Baleh Kapit Raft Safari (SRBK) returns for its 28th edition with total prizes worth RM50,000 up for grabs when the event takes place from July 11 to 13.
This water race, synonymous with the Kapit interior community, will cover the Batang Baleh route, starting from Rumah Nyandang in Sungai Majau and Rumah Tang in Nanga Banyau before ending at the Kapit Express Terminal.
“There are four main categories featured in this event, involving raft and paddle boat races open to both men and women participants,” according to a press statement by SRBK on Wednesday.
The categories are: Men’s Open Raft, Women’s Open Raft, Open Paddle Boat (8 paddlers), and Open Paddle Boat (2 paddlers).
The organisers will also host various side activities to enliven the atmosphere, including the Safari Raft Fun Run (5km), speed boat races, the Safari Raft Expedition, as well as booths by local communities and entrepreneurs.
