KUALA LUMPUR: Bank ABB, a financial institution in the South Caucasus, has launched its artificial intelligence (AI) assistants, AI-nur and AI-khan, making them available to all customers following a successful beta testing phase.

The conversational AI technology represents a major step in the bank’s digital transformation efforts and is among the first voice-enabled AI banking solutions introduced in Azerbaijan and the wider region.

More than 230,000 users have already utilised the service, generating over 2.5 million interactions through the AI-powered banking assistants.

In a statement, the bank said conversational AI interfaces are becoming an increasingly important component of modern banking, helping to improve accessibility, speed and personalisation across digital channels.

Developed as part of Bank ABB’s strategy to expand digital banking services, the AI assistants allow customers to interact with banking services using natural voice commands. Customers can transfer funds between accounts, send money using mobile phone numbers, and perform security-related functions such as blocking or reactivating payment cards.

According to Bank ABB, the launch supports its efforts to advance AI-driven banking services in Azerbaijan and the wider South Caucasus region.

Bank ABB said it currently deploys 180 generative and predictive AI models across various business functions, generating more than 35 million Azerbaijani manat (AZN) in financial impact. (1 AZN = RM2.39)

All transactions conducted through AI-nur and AI-khan operate within the bank’s secure digital infrastructure, with customer data and financial information protected under banking and cybersecurity standards.

Bank ABB plans to further expand the capabilities of the AI assistants by introducing additional AI-powered banking services. – BERNAMA
