JAKARTA: AFFIN Group has signed a cross-promotion agreement with PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), allowing cardholders of both banks to access selected merchant offers in each other’s markets.

Under the arrangement, BCA credit cardholders will receive benefits when using their cards at merchants designated by AFFIN, while AFFIN credit cardholders can access privileges at merchants designated by BCA.

The banks said the benefits include discounts, complimentary gifts, upgrades, preferential pricing and priority access at participating hotels, restaurants, department stores, concerts and other selected merchants.

Details of participating merchants, offer mechanics and customer eligibility have yet to be finalised.

AFFIN said these would be announced progressively through its official channels.

Both banks will coordinate the implementation of the cross-promotion programme, including the preparation and publication of promotional materials.

The participating offers and promotional materials will be subject to mutual agreement, prior approval and applicable laws and regulations in Malaysia and Indonesia.

AFFIN Bank president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the agreement marked the beginning of a broader collaboration between the two banks.

“We believe this partnership will continue to evolve, enabling AFFIN (Malaysia) and BCA (Indonesia) to jointly develop and introduce enhanced, value-added products and services that better serve our customers in both markets,” he said.

Meanwhile, BCA president director Hendra Lembong said the collaboration would extend the Indonesian bank’s cardholder benefits beyond its domestic market.

“By extending BCA’s cardholder benefits beyond Indonesia, we are not only enriching our value proposition but also opening new avenues for our customers to enjoy curated privileges across borders,” he said.

The cross-promotion campaign will officially commence on Aug 20.
