The Toyota Corolla Altis is prevented by the pillar from crashing into the bank.

BINTULU: A Toyota Corolla Altis, driven by a woman, rammed the front of Bank Islam in a parking mishap at Parkcity Commerce Square at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi here yesterday morning.

According to witnesses who were at the bank’s ATMs, the vehicle was driven very slowly as the driver wanted to park in front of the bank, but out of a sudden, the car jumped the kerb and rammed the front to the bank, shattering the glass panel wall.

“I saw the incident. Perhaps, the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake, causing to car to surge forward over the kerb and ram the front of the bank,” said a witness.

Luckily, the car rammed the right front door of the bank instead of the left door where the ATMs are located and where there were some customers during the incident.

One of the pillars at the front wall prevented the car from crashing into the bank.

The driver of the car, meanwhile, did not suffer any injuries.
