MIRI: Baram FC will continue to place their trust in local talent as they gear up for a tough encounter against Project Park FC, a team packed with experienced and import players.

The two teams will face each other in the Bintulu League on Sunday (May 11) at Bintulu Stadium at 4:30 pm.

Club president and team manager, Spanski Steven, confirmed there would be no major changes to the squad for the upcoming match, reaffirming the club’s commitment to developing grassroots football.

“As we look forward to our next match against Project Park FC, I can confirm there won’t be major changes in our squad.

“We’re sticking with our local talents, the same dedicated group who have been giving their all in this tournament,” said Spanski in a statement recently.

He acknowledged the strength of Project Park FC, calling them a formidable side, but insisted that Baram FC would not shy away from the challenge.

“Project Park FC is a strong side, filled with experienced and import players. We respect that.

“But we’re proud to represent Baram with our true local boys. These players may be young and new to this level, but they’re learning fast, enjoying every moment, and giving it their hearts,” he said.

Baram FC’s campaign has captured attention for its emphasis on grassroots development, with a team built entirely from local talent.

“We’ll give it our all. The rest is in God’s hands. ‘Bola itu bulat’ (the ball is round) -anything can happen,” Spanski added.

He also highlighted that, beyond the results, the focus remains on pride, unity, and representing Baram with honour.
