KUCHING: The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) Sarawak is pleased to announce that BAS.MY Kuching will commence phased operations starting today (March 5).
The first route to launch will be Q10, which runs from Open Air Market to Serian. This route, spanning 67km and covering 48 bus stops, will operate with six brand-new, disabled-friendly buses.
According to a press release by CVLB, BAS.MY Kuching is implemented under the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) Programme, initiated by the federal government.
The service will be rolled out in phases until April 2025, with a total of 56 new buses covering 10 routes once fully operational.
“BAS.MY Kuching adopts an open payment system, allowing users to pay via debit card, credit card, e-wallet, and cash. Malaysian citizens can subscribe to the BAS.MY 30-Day Pass for RM50, granting unlimited rides on BAS.MY Kuching for 30 days,” it said.
Additionally, persons with disabilities, senior citizens (aged 60 and above), school students, and university students who are Malaysian citizens can apply for the BAS.MY Concession Card to enjoy free fares.
CVLB Sarawak, under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, remains committed to ensuring that BAS.MY Kuching enhances public transportation in the Greater Kuching area.
