KUCHING: All Bas.MY Kuching routes will operate from the Open-Air Market starting June 23, following the temporary closure of Jalan Masjid for the construction of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) station.

In a public notice, Bas.MY Kuching stated that this relocation will remain in effect until further notice.

The notice advised passengers to check for real-time updates as adjustments to operations may occur during the construction period.

For record, Bas.MY is part of the federal government’s Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme, which aims to modernise and improve public transport in urban areas.

The initiative introduces reliable, accessible, and safer public transport options for the people of Kuching.

The buses serve key locations including Serian, Bau, Batu Kawa, Muara Tebas and Taman Malihah, as well as major facilities like Sarawak General Hospital, The Spring Mall, Vivacity Megamall and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

All Bas.MY buses are equipped with GPS tracking, closed-circuit television (CCTV), and low-deck accessibility features to accommodate passengers with disabilities (OKU).

Commuters are encouraged to scan the QR code provided in the notice or visit official platforms for route and schedule updates.

Bas.MY Kuching routes will begin operating from the Open-Air Market from June 23 due to ART station works.
