BAU: Parents and the local community are encouraged to continue supporting the Bi’Bauk Taekwondo Club, as it plays an important role in attracting more youths to take part in healthy activities while learning self-defence and discipline.

Bau District Officer Eddy Nayoi, representing Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, said the martial arts club has gained a growing number of members, especially among youths here.

He said that apart from learning self-defence and maintaining good health, martial arts also instils self-discipline while building confidence and character.

“As we have seen in their demonstration, the participants displayed impressive skills and confidence in their movements on stage.

“This is all thanks to the dedication of Bi’Bauk Taekwondo Club chairman Begos Notay, as well as the continuous support from the Sarawak Taekwondo Association,” he said.

He said this when delivering his speech at a fundraising dinner organised by the Bi’Bauk Taekwondo Club at Kampung Segong on Saturday night.

Eddy also announced that the club will receive a contribution of RM5,000 from Henry to support its programmes and activities, enabling members to gain more experience and improve their skills in taekwondo.

“To parents and the community in Bau, please continue to support the club. Anyone interested, young or old, is welcome to join.

“This fundraising dinner would not have been possible without the strong support from the people of Bau,” he added.

Meanwhile, eight members of the Bi’Bauk Taekwondo Club have been selected to represent Sarawak at the Johor Taekwondo Junior and Open Championship 2026.
