KUCHING: As the Sarawak government pours out many incentives to help Sarawakians from every corner of the state to pick up post Covid-19, many are asking for more.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah stressed that he was not kept in the dark on how bad the tourism industry players were affected by Covid-19 pandemic, however, the state government had to look at the bigger picture.

He was making remarks on several tourism industry players who were showing discontent over the incentives already introduced as they had requested for more assistance.

“There are some incentives that we’re bringing in for the industry players then they should be grateful.

“Of course this industry will be asking for more but we have to be considerate as there are many more players inside and outside the industry.

“If we are looking to assist only one industry, what about the others?” he responded when asked to comment on the plead by several industry players for more government assistance.
