ACTRESS Bella Dowanna revealed that practising replacement fasting and reducing sugar intake played a significant role in her weight loss journey.

Bella caught the attention of social media users after several viral videos showcased her noticeably slimmer physique.

Dispelling claims of a drastic transformation, the 20-year-old Bella shared that it took her a year to shed 20 kilogrammes.

“My journey to lose weight was a lengthy one — it took me a year. I practised eating just one meal a day and did replacement fasting.

“But, for those who wants to lose weight, rather than following the OMAD diet (One Meal a Day), I recommend opting for replacement fasting. Not only is it beneficial for your body, but you also gain spiritual rewards.

“Additionally, I cut back on sugar and exercised regularly. Sometimes, I even attended two hot yoga classes a day,” she added.

However, the “Legenda Puteri Qaseh” actress emphasised that everyone should embrace dieting in a relaxed and enjoyable way to avoid unnecessary stress.

“What motivated me to lose weight was the fact that no one pressured me to do so. When people force or pressure me, I tend to resist.

“When you do something willingly, it becomes more enjoyable, and you’re more committed to the process.

“For instance, some people set goals to lose a certain number of kilogrammes within three months. I don’t think that way because it can cause unnecessary stress and make you feel like you’re punishing yourself,” she explained.

Bella also dismissed the rumours that she underwent bariatric surgery to achieve her weight loss.

“I didn’t take any shortcuts like having surgery or anything of the sort. If I could show my stomach as proof, I would.

“I’ve been in and out of the hospital numerous times due to various illnesses. Why would I want to put myself through surgery willingly? No, thank you,” she said.
