KUCHING: In a heartwarming celebration of unity and culture, popular artist, Bella Astillah, and Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, captured the hearts of Malaysians as they danced their way through traditional performances from Sarawak and Sabah’s rich heritage.

The duo’s vibrant video, posted on Bella’s Instagram, featured them joyfully performing traditional dances from the Bidayuh, Iban, Kadazan, and Bajau Semah communities, all while wearing the colourful traditional attire of each tribe.

It marked their very first dance collaboration, and their chemistry and enthusiasm were contagious.

“My very first dance collab with YB Syed Saddiq. Not perfect, but perfectly fun. The transition was amazing – from day to night!” Bella captioned the video.

She also thanked Saddiq for stepping out of his comfort zone, saying, “Thank you, YB Syed Saddiq, grateful for your courage and willingness to try something new. That’s what made it special.”

Bella took the opportunity to wish everyone a joyful Kaamatan and Gawai, adding a heartfelt festive touch to the video.

The clip quickly gained momentum online, amassing 3.5 million views and 147,000 likes, drawing praise from netizens for its lightheartedness and cultural appreciation.

One user commented, “This definitely put a smile on all Malaysians’ faces.”

Meanwhile, Saddiq himself responded humorously: “Not sure whether to laugh or cry watching it again. Never mind, I’ll just stick to focusing on Parliament,” he joked.

Saddiq and Bella’s friendship blossomed after they collaborated as ambassadors for a local clothing brand.
