KUCHING: Sarawak Water has assured the situation at Bengoh Dam remains under control despite a drop in its water level.

The utility provider said the dam’s raw water supply remains sufficient to support the operation of water treatment plants, while water supply services are continuing as usual.

“Although there has been a decline in the water level, the raw water supply for water treatment plant operations remains sufficient at present,” it said in a post on its official social media platform.

Sarawak Water said its technical team is closely monitoring the dam’s water level, weather conditions and supply requirements.

This is to ensure that appropriate management measures can be implemented early should the situation change.

“The public is also advised to use water prudently and rely on our official channels for verified and up-to-date information. Further updates will be issued if there are any changes requiring public attention,” it said.

At the same time, Sarawak Water also reiterated that the situation remains under control and the raw water supply is sufficient to sustain water treatment plant operations.
