KUCHING: Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has made three leadership changes effective July 2025, including two internal promotions and one new appointment, as the agency prepares for its next phase of development.
Jason Tan Chin Foo has been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer. He previously served as General Manager of Business Development and Marketing, and has been with the organisation since 2012.
His work has focused on expanding Sarawak’s international reach through initiatives linked to the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Anedia Kahar, who joined BESarawak in 2006 as part of its pioneer team, has been appointed General Manager of Business Development and Services.
She was formerly Deputy General Manager for Business Development and Research, and has played a leading role in rolling out Sarawak’s Legacy Impact framework.
BESarawak also welcomes Joachim Soon as General Manager for Capacity and Digitalisation.
He will oversee talent development and digital innovation, drawing on his background in training, communications, and digital engagement.
Commenting on the appointments, Chief Executive Officer Amelia Roziman said the restructuring was essential as BESarawak approaches the final phase of its Legacy Impact Master Action Plan and aims to keep pace with industry changes.
“Beyond developing leadership, we aim to bring in fresh perspectives to enhance the ecosystem and grow a stronger pool of experts,” she said.
