BETONG: The 2025 edition of the Gawai Dayak Parade in the division will be held on June 7 at the Betong Sports Complex.

Carrying the theme “Mujur Mansang Segulai Sejalai”, the parade offers attractive prizes for participating contingents.

The overall winner will take home a cash prize of RM10,000 along with a certificate and a challenge trophy.

Category winners will receive RM3,000, a certificate, and a trophy each. First runners-up will be awarded RM2,000, a certificate, and a trophy, while third placing will fetch RM1,000, a certificate, and a trophy.

As in previous years, the organisers have set four participation categories. Category A is open to government departments, statutory bodies, and private companies in the Betong Division. Category B involves community leaders, longhouses, villages, NGOs, and towns within the division. Category C is for secondary schools, while Category D is designated for primary schools in the division.

Each contingent must consist of at least 30 members, including a manager and team leader. Mixed contingents consisting of the public, private sector employees, or statutory bodies forming a team representing a government department are encouraged to register under Category A. Similarly, mixed or combined contingents involving multiple longhouses, NGOs, towns, or villages forming one team are encouraged to register under Category B.
