KUCHING: A cooperative and a state ministry have discussed key initiatives to equip young Sarawakians with the necessary skills, resources and global exposure to thrive.
The collaboration between Koperasi Belia Inovatif Sarawak Berhad (KOBIS Berhad) and the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development seeks to enhance entrepreneurial and leadership opportunities among them.
The engagement aligns with Sarawak’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, emphasising youth participation in high-value industries to drive socio-economic growth.
“We see immense potential in positioning youth as key drivers of Sarawak’s economic progress,” said KOBIS Berhad Chairman Zaiwin Kassim who led a courtesy call to the Ministry represented by Deputy Permanent Secretary Dolhadi Marzuki.
“Through strategic initiatives and structured programmes, we aim to enhance youth income levels while fostering leadership and global exposure,” he said.
On its part the Ministry recognised the importance of structured programmes that develop entrepreneurial skills and prepare young Sarawakians for leadership roles in an increasingly competitive global economy.
As Sarawak moves towards a high-income and globally competitive future, the role of youth in shaping economic progress has become more critical.
