KUCHING: Three distinguished individuals will be honoured with the Bisegu Iconic Award 2025 (BIA 2025) during the Ngarom Bisamah PSBP 2025 event, organised by the Persatuan Segu Bunuk Penrissen (PSBP), to be held tonight at the DBNA Multipurpose Hall, Jalan Kumpang here.
The recipients were carefully selected in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions in their respective fields, exemplifying the spirit of excellence and pride within the Bisegu community.
They are Awaeng Kwasin, Roziena Ixzy Halix and John Rizal Biki.
Awaeng, a successful Bidayuh entrepreneur, is the founder of Joeyees Trading Sdn Bhd and the driving force behind the Nang Ori brand, renowned for its premium pepper-based products. She is also recognised as one of the pioneers in exporting Sarawak pepper to the international market.
Roziena, popularly known by her stage name as Roxy Ixzy, was selected for the entertainment category following her remarkable achievement as the Bintang RTM 2024 champion, which earned her national acclaim.
Meanwhile, John Rizal, a senior manager for strategic management and consultancy at Sarawak Skills and a certified professional technologist, was chosen for his contributions to the field of education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Deputy Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, will officiate at the opening of the event, which is also to mark PSBP’s 7th anniversary celebration.
Also expected to be present are the Puncak Borneo Member of Parliament, who is also PSBP patron, Datuk Willie Mongin.
