KUCHING: Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) have officially parted ways with head coach, Hector Bidoglio, bringing an end to a successful tenure that saw the Argentine leading the Southern Tigers to multiple domestic honours.
In a statement issued by JDT on Friday, the club expressed its gratitude to Bidoglio, who first joined the club midway through the 2022 season.
After a stint as technical director in 2023, he returned to the head coach role for the 2024-25 season.
During his time at the club, Bidoglio guided JDT to two Malaysia Super League titles, two FA Cups, two Malaysia Cups and a Charity Cup.
Under his leadership, the club remained unbeaten in all domestic competitions, including securing a historic quadruple in the most recent season.
“Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) would like to thank Hector Bidoglio for his unwavering commitment and service to the club,” the club said in a statement.
“We wish him all the best in his future undertakings.”
JDT also announced that a new head coach will be unveiled soon as the club continues efforts to raise standards and sustain its trophy-winning tradition.
However, there are reports by Spanish media outlets that former Valencia and Betis striker, now football manager, Xisco Muñoz, is set to replace Bidoglio as JDT’s new head coach.
The Spaniard had previously managed clubs like Watford and Sheffield Wednesday, with DAC Dunajská Streda being his most recent stint.
