KUCHING: BIG REHAB, in collaboration with the Malaysian Red Crescent (Sitampin Branch), will host a blood donation drive at the BIG REHAB Hui Sing branch this coming Saturday (August 16).
In a statement by Malaysian Red Crescent (Sitampin Branch) today, the initiative aims to support the Sarawak General Hospital’s blood bank, prevent shortages, and ensure a stable blood supply for those in need.
The event, themed ‘Gift of Life, Health Care, Community Spirit’, seeks to encourage public participation in blood donation while promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement through a variety of activities.
“Donors will have access to free health checks focusing on early detection, stroke prevention, and overall health preservation.
“Nutritional awareness will be promoted through healthy rice-tasting sessions, while light meals and beverages will be provided to help donors replenish their energy.
“In addition, successful blood donors will receive complimentary gift bags, and attendees will have the opportunity to experience innovative rehabilitation equipment first-hand,” it said.
The event is open to the public, welcoming all eligible donors, whether they are first-time donors or experienced volunteers.
The organisers emphasised that every donation has the potential to save a life.
In summary, the blood drive will take place at the BIG REHAB Hui Sing branch on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
