MIRI: A motorcyclist died while his pillion rider sustained injuries after they were involved in an accident at KM6 Jalan Hilltop here last Sunday (Sept 26).
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said they were heading towards Morsjaya from the city centre before the biker suddenly lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a tree.
Miri police traffic personnel were deployed to the scene upon receiving a report on the incident at 8.40am.
Alexson added that the biker suffered severe injuries to his face while his female pillion rider suffered bodily injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Miri Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
