SARIKEI: Two longhouses in the Sungai Kijang area of Bintangor will benefit from infrastructure upgrades approved under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who is Repok state assemblyman, said the government consistently prioritises basic infrastructure needs in rural areas.

“Through the RTP 2025 allocation, I hope the upgrading of roads in front of the longhouses will improve safety, comfort and ease daily activities for residents,” he said.

Huang added that the projects reflected the government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring rural development is not sidelined.

The longhouses involved are Rumah Anthony Muling, comprising nine doors, and the 16-door Rumah Nealy Baja.

The main scope of the projects involves upgrading existing earth roads to concrete ones at the front courtyard areas of the longhouses.

Residents of the longhouses expressed appreciation for the swift action taken in approving the projects.
