BINTULU: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) has launched its new Customer-Centric Centre (CCC), an initiative aimed at enhancing customer experience and advancing port operations with a focus on technology and environmental sustainability.

The launch of the centre is part of BPHB’s digital transformation agenda, intended to improve port operations and deliver more efficient, customer-oriented services.

According to BPHB group president and chief executive officer Ruslan Abdul Ghani, the CCC represents BPHB’s commitment to providing services that are more efficient and customer-friendly.

“With the CCC, we are not only consolidating all services but also striving to ensure operations are more technology-driven and environmentally friendly.”

Ruslan was speaking during the launch of the CCC and BPHB’s sustainability initiatives, held at Wisma Kontena, BPHB, on Monday (April 28).

The launch was officiated by Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development and Samalaju assemblyman Datuk Majang Renggi.

Strategically located within Bintulu Port, the CCC now functions as a one-stop centre, offering facilities that streamline the issuance of access passes and contractor access, alongside providing more comprehensive customer support services.

During the event, Ruslan also announced several key initiatives for 2025, focusing on sustainability and the adoption of green technology.

These initiatives include the use of green electricity from solar sources and the deployment of fully electric equipment such as terminal towing tractors (TTT) and reach stackers.

BPHB will also conduct feasibility studies on the use of electric or hybrid tugboats and will introduce electric motorcycles as part of its zero-emission vehicle fleet.

“We hope that through these measures, BPHB will not only strengthen port operations but also contribute significantly to carbon footprint reduction and environmental sustainability,” he added.

At the same time, Ruslan expressed his appreciation to the Bintulu Port Authority (BPA) for its unwavering support since 1981, which has helped position Bintulu Port as one of Malaysia’s major maritime gateways.
