BINTULU: Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB) has taken a proactive step by establishing the Rakan Agensi Antidadah Kebangsaan (AADK) Bintulu Port initiative as part of its efforts to strengthen a healthy, drug-free work culture among its workforce.
President and Group Chief Executive Officer of BPHB, Ruslan Abdul Ghani, stated that this initiative is a strategic approach to ensure that employees remain free from the influence of drug abuse, in line with the company’s commitment to integrity and social well-being.
He explained that the initiative is founded on three core principles: prevention, involvement, and inclusivity.
“Drug abuse not only affects individuals but can also compromise the productivity and safety of the organisation.
“Through the Rakan AADK platform, we involve all employees, their families, and the local community in various awareness programs including talks and open dialogue sessions,” he said.
He was speaking at the launch ceremony of Rakan AADK Bintulu Port in conjunction with Bintulu Port’s Ethics Day 2025, held at the Bintulu Port Authority Auditorium on Thursday.
The launch was officiated by Jepak Assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, who praised BPHB’s commitment as a prime example of corporate sector involvement in addressing social issues, particularly those related to drug abuse.
Ruslan stressed that Rakan AADK is not merely a symbolic or one-off program, but a continuous platform that will strengthen internal support systems and cultivate a healthy lifestyle among employees.
“We believe that prevention begins with awareness, and awareness begins with education.
“Through this effort, we hope to be a catalyst for change and a source of inspiration for other organisations across the country,” he added.
