KUCHING: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) recorded more than 350 media mentions in 2025 alone, reflecting growing public awareness of its strategic role as a key economic gateway for Sarawak and Malaysia.
BPHB president and group chief executive officer Datuk Ruslan Abdul Ghani thanked media organisations for their consistent support in highlighting the port’s milestones, corporate developments and community initiatives.
“To our friends from the media fraternity, this evening is for you. I am deeply grateful to witness the growing support for Bintulu Port from the media fraternity.
“Regardless of the circumstances, the media has been consistent in highlighting the group’s presence through rain or shine.
“In 2025 alone, Bintulu Port was mentioned in the media over 350 times — that is an average of once a day throughout the year,” he said at the BPHB media appreciation dinner at Sheraton here last night (Feb 11).
Ruslan also noted the role of the media as the bridge between Bintulu Port and the public, where its efforts through various means have impacted the livelihood of communities.
“Through your reporting, storytelling, and commitment to factual and responsible journalism, you have helped shape public confidence and understanding of Bintulu Port’s role as a vital economic gateway for Sarawak and Malaysia. For that, we thank you sincerely,” he said.
He noted that strong collaboration with media partners remains crucial as the port moves forward with its modernisation efforts, including equipment upgrades and the implementation of its Port Operating System as part of its digital transformation agenda towards 2030.
Ruslan added that the continued partnership between Bintulu Port and the media will be vital in navigating an increasingly dynamic operating environment while pursuing operational excellence and sustainable growth.
