KUCHING: The upcoming Business Innovation & Technology Conference (BIT) 2025 is expected to equip Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with actionable insights and solutions to help grow their businesses.

Scheduled to take place from February 20 to 21 at Raia Hotel Kuching, the conference, organised by Karuna Sarawak, will feature industry experts who will focus on topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Cybersecurity, and Cloud Solutions.

Among the 25 key speakers at BIT are Kasatria Technologies co-founder Chan Kin Peng, PANTAS Climate Solutions CEO Max Lee, and Alliance Bank Strategic Partnerships Innovation head Roy Heung.

Additionally, Yeoh Chen Chow of 1% Advisory and Coaching, and a co-founding partner of FAVE Group, will provide insights as a panellist.

Commenting on the conference, Karuna Sarawak CEO Melvin Ong emphasised that SMEs, which make up 97 per cent of the economy, are crucial for the country’s socioeconomic growth, contributing 38 per cent of GDP and 48 per cent of employment.

“As a digital solutions provider, we want to play our part in educating and equipping SMEs with the right tools and knowledge to elevate their businesses.

“As technology becomes increasingly entrenched in our lives, SMEs must adapt quickly to meet market demands and expectations, in order to scale their businesses,” he said.

In line with this, Ong noted that the BIT 2025 objectives align with both the Sarawak government’s Digital Economy Blueprint 2030 and the federal government’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030, both of which aim to accelerate digital economic growth at both the state and national levels.

“Conference tickets are fully claimable under Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) claimable courses, helping to ease cost concerns for companies wishing to send employees to enrich their knowledge and network for business opportunities,” he said.

Key partners for the conference include Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), Alliance Bank, Maxis, and the Malaysia Proptech Association (MPA).
