KUCHING: The organisation of the Biubiu Superstar 2025 programme is a highly meaningful initiative in building confidence, talent and identity among Sarawak’s youth.

Deputy Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Snowdan Lawan said Biubiu Superstar is not merely an entertainment competition, but a platform for human capital development.

He said this is especially evident in the areas of communication, performing arts and the creative industry.

“This programme proves that when opportunities are given, our young people are able to excel not only in terms of talent, but also in discipline, courage and personal maturity.

“What is especially commendable is that the programme also promotes Sarawak’s local language and identity, in line with our efforts to ensure that the state’s culture and heritage continue to be appreciated and passed on to future generations,” he said at the Biubiu Superstar Gala Night held here on Saturday night.

His speech text was read by his political secretary, Rosalina Negin.

To support the development of youth talent, a total contribution of RM10,000 will be channelled to the organisers to ensure the continuity of the programme in the future.

During the gala night, seven finalists took to the stage to showcase their talents, with Michelle Matthew crowned champion, followed by Mike Harris as runner-up and Mohd Farhan in third place.
