GLOBAL K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK is set to make a high-profile return to the stage with their newly announced world tour titled Deadline.
The tour marks the group’s official comeback after nearly a year of focusing on individual projects. Comprising Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé, the quartet shared news of the tour via their official Instagram account, sending fans worldwide into a frenzy.
However, not all fans were celebrating – particularly in Malaysia, where local supporters were disheartened to find the country missing from the list of concert destinations. Despite a teaser announcement last month, the full list of tour venues was only revealed recently.
The Deadline World Tour will kick off at Goyang Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, before continuing across 15 other cities including Los Angeles, London, Paris, Bangkok, and Manila.
The final stop is scheduled for Hong Kong in January next year. Neighbouring countries like Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines are slated to host multiple-night performances, with Bangkok getting a three-night concert run.
Yet, Malaysia was notably absent from the itinerary – sparking disappointment among local fans, known as Blinks.
The omission prompted a flurry of reactions in the comment section of BLACKPINK’s announcement post, with Malaysian fans voicing frustration and pleading with YG Entertainment to reconsider.
“Why is Malaysia not listed when we have so many fans here?” one comment read, while another added, “Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand get more than one night – and we get none?”
Others tagged the group’s label directly: “YG Entertainment, please take note. We Malaysian fans want this too!”
As of now, there has been no official response from YG Entertainment regarding the exclusion.
With BLACKPINK’s immense popularity in the region, fans remain hopeful that additional dates could still be announced.
