KUCHING: Fire destroyed a homestay in Kampung Panglima Seman Lama yesterday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distress call at 3.21pm and dispatched firemen from Petra Jaya and Padungan stations to the scene.
Upon arrival at 3.35pm, the double-storey house was already about 80 per cent burnt.
There were no casualties as the homestay was unoccupied when the fire broke out.
Firemen performed the extinguishing deed using water sourced from a nearby river and managed to bring the situation under control at 3.45pm.
