KUCHING: As Chinese New Year celebration approaches, the number of blood donors present at the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank (TDHUS) and the Blood Donation Campaign Mobile Unit are expected to decline.

Therefore, to ensure sufficient blood supply, members of the public are invited to visit TDHUS or the nearby Blood Donation Campaign Mobile Unit this weekend.

The blood bank would be open tomorrow (February 10) to give members of the public the opportunity to donate their blood. The donation counter is open from 8.30am to 2.30pm. Carpark facilities are also provided to the donors.

On the same day, the mobile unit would be at the Glassroom, Level 2, Boulevard Shopping Mall Kuching from 10am to 3pm.

On Sunday (February 11), the Blood Donation Campaign Mobile Unit would be located at two locations, namely Baha’i Center 1, Jalan Nanas organised by The Local Spiritual Assembly Of Kuching City South from 10am to 2pm and at Kuching Sentral, 2nd Floor from 10am to 3pm.

Donors are reminded to bring their Donation Record Book and first timers only need to bring their identification card. They are advised to eat first before donating and have slept for at least five hours.

TDHUS also welcomes the involvement of government and private agencies interested in organising Blood Donation Campaign on an ongoing basis. Cooperation from all parties is crucial to ensure the supply of blood at the Sarawak General Hospital is always sufficient.
