KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank has appealed to eligible donors to come forward as the current supply for blood groups A and AB remains below the safe level.
In a Facebook posting, the blood bank urged donors who had already reached their eligible donation interval to visit the SGH Blood Bank or the nearest mobile blood donation campaign to help replenish stock levels and support patients in need.
The public is encouraged to respond to the call, especially regular and first-time donors, as the availability of adequate blood supply is crucial for medical treatments, emergency procedures and ongoing patient care.
At the same time, the blood bank also welcomed donors from blood groups B and O while extending its appreciation to all individuals who had previously donated and continued to support the life-saving cause.
The SGH Blood Bank reiterated that sustained community participation was essential for maintaining a stable and safe blood reserve for the state’s healthcare system.
