KUCHING: Members of the public have been very supportive of the recent blood donation and health screening campaign organised by the Sarawak Youth and Community Association (SARBEKAS) Kota Sentosa Branch held at Kuching Sentral Shopping Mall on Tuesday.
The collaboration was sponsored by the Lions Club of Kota Sentosa and Lions Club of Kuching Centennial.
Several health partners, including Nu Skin, Hearing Concept Kuching, Diabetes Malaysia (Sarawak Branch), and the Ministry of Health, set up booths offering free screenings and consultations to the public during the campaign held from 10am to 3pm.
The event aimed to raise public health awareness and promote voluntary blood donation.
A total of 54 individuals successfully donated blood, while five were deferred for medical reasons.
The donation drive was supported by the Blood Bank team from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

During his visit, he presented certificates of appreciation to all participating health partners and the Blood Bank SGH team in recognition of their contributions.
In his address, Yap expressed his support for SARBEKAS and its partners, commending their ongoing efforts in serving the community.
He also emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering public health and unity.
