MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak will organise its first blood donation campaign of the year on Saturday (Apr 4) in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Miri Hospital.
The campaign will be held at the lobby of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, here from 9am to 1pm, as part of its quarterly initiative to support the national blood supply.
The first 80 successful donors will receive a 5kg bag of Ratu Huma rice as a token of appreciation for their contribution.
As a centre for learning, community development and information dissemination, Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri said the initiative reflects its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging volunteerism among the public.
The campaign also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by improving access to safe and sufficient blood supply, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with the Blood Bank of Miri Hospital.
Subsequent blood donation drives are scheduled for May 6, Aug 15 and Dec 5 this year.
