MIRI: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Miri (Piasau) Branch is urging the public to support its upcoming Blood Donation Drive on Nov 15, aimed at boosting hospital reserves and encouraging greater community participation in healthcare.

The event will take place from 8 am to 1 pm at the Malaysia Red Crescent Centre here, in collaboration with the Miri Hospital Blood Bank. Organisers hope the drive will receive strong community support and set the foundation for an annual initiative.

“We aim to make this a meaningful and impactful initiative for the community. Every drop counts, and by donating blood, the public can directly help save lives,” said organising chairman Ts Chan Huan Sing.

The campaign focuses on three objectives: promoting health awareness, saving lives, and ensuring hospitals have sufficient blood reserves to handle emergencies.

To encourage participation, the first 100 successful donors will receive complimentary gifts on a first-come, first-served basis.

The organising committee, led by advisor Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew and event advisor Joseph Leng Tak Shing, has assembled a team to manage logistics, publicity, coordination with the blood bank, as well as registration and refreshments.

Chan added that while the incentives are a small token of appreciation, the true reward lies in knowing that donors are making a direct difference.

SUPP Piasau is inviting the public to mark their calendars and contribute to what it hopes will become a signature community event.
