SIBU: The body found by the banks of Sungai Pangkalan Kapal Golden Dollar Sand & Gravel Sdn Bhd, Jalan Lanang here yesterday has been confirmed to be that of a Myanmar national reported missing earlier this week.

The body found is confirmed to be that of a missing Myanmar national.

Sibu Police Chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, said the 21-year-old victim was reported missing last Tuesday (April 15).

“We received a report at 7.00 am regarding the discovery, and following identification, it was confirmed that the victim was the missing individual,” he said in a statement today.

The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR), and investigations are ongoing.

Zulkipli advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could disrupt police investigations.

“Members of the public with information related to this case are urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Minggu Morziri, at 084-344111 or 014-2913703,” he added.
