Body found floating near village

SARATOK: A body was found floating at Sungai Kampung Alit around 10am on Friday (Sept 18).

The body belonged to a victim of a sinking boat due to typhoon when fishing near Alit waters near here last Wednesday night.

According to Sarawak Bomba Operations Centre, the body was identified as Azrol Nen, 31.

“The body was found afloat about two nautical miles from the beach.

“The body has been verified by his family and has been handed over to the police before being brought to the Saratok Hospital for further action,” it said in a statement.

Earlier, two other victims were found safe and had been admitted to Kabong clinic.

They are Mahadir Metali, 42, and Mohd Akmal Abdul Hamid, 24.
