KUANTAN: The decomposed body of a woman found beneath a pile of oil palm fronds in an estate area in Telemong, Bentong, on Monday has been identified as that of an Indonesian in her 40s.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the woman’s identity was confirmed after her husband came forward to make the identification this morning.

“The body underwent a post-mortem yesterday, which revealed that it had been decomposed for more than two weeks. We are still conducting further investigations to determine the actual cause of death,” he said.

Yahaya said the case is still classified as a sudden death report pending further investigation at the scene to determine the cause of death.

He told reporters this after officiating at the rank presentation ceremony for the new Jerantut district police chief, Supt Mohd Azahari Mukhtar, and Pahang Criminal Investigation Department (Investigation/Legal) deputy head Supt Maziah Hamzah at the PDRM Logistics Complex in Alor Akar here today. – BERNAMA
