KUCHING: A body of an elderly man was found in a house located at Lorong Kempas 6A1, Kempas Heights here on Friday.
The incident unfolded around 1:03 pm after the Tabuan Jaya fire and rescue station received a call from the police requesting assistance to access a locked residence.
“A team was immediately deployed to the scene and, upon arrival, firefighters used specialised tools to force open both the gate and front door of the house, following approval from the police.
“Inside, they found the body of a man, estimated to be in his 60s,” Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said in a statement.
It added that the man may have passed away about a week ago.
Initial checks and statements from a neighbour revealed that the man had been living alone.
