MIRI: The body of a 15-year-old girl—missing since Sunday (Sept 18)—was found late Today (Sept 19).
The body was found floating near Coco Cabana beach, a short distance from where her personal belongings were recovered the day earlier.
“The body was recovered this evening, floating nearby the beach,” said Miri Fire and Rescue Department acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee when contacted.
It was understood that the discovery was made around 5pm, Monday.
Earlier, a search and rescue operation was launched to locate the victim following a report lodged by the girl’s father after she failed to return home on Sunday and her personal belongings discovered on one of the benches along the beach.
The body was handed over to the police for further action.
