KUCHING: A suspicious package was left at a commercial centre at Matang near here at about 1.00pm yesterday, prompting a bomb scare.
The police bomb squad was called after the owner of the commercial centre lodged a police report.
A team from the Fire and Rescue Services Department, an ambulance and the police were called after a cleaner came across the suspicious package.
The bomb squad used a robot to collect the package before defusing it a distance away at about 4.40 pm.
It is believed that there was no explosive in the package. The police are now investigating the case.
