DARO: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) had a slithery start to their morning today (Nov 1) after responding to two cases of pythons swallowing two different pets at separate locations.
Firemen from Daro station were dispatched to the first case at Kampung Treng Matu after receiving an emergency call around 8.10am.
Upon arrival, the team found a two-metre-long python in a cat’s cage and according to the complainant, the reptile had swallowed one of the cats inside.

The team, clad in full personal protective equipment (PPE), proceeded to capture the slithery python with a snake catcher tool.
An hour later, the team rushed to Kampung Badong after receiving a similar distress call regarding a python swallowing one of the birds in a pigeon cage.
They managed to locate the one-metre-long reptile and captured it with a snake catcher tool.
Both reptiles were released into their original habitats in the forest, away from housing areas.
