KUCHING: The books – Pejuang Sejati: Dari Rimba Ke Astana and 365 Days in Astana: Story and Portraits of His Excellency Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar serve as timeless tribute to the lasting impact of the Governor of Sarawak and his steadfast commitment to the community.
In stating this, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the book – 365 Days in Astana, honours inspirational leadership that brings people together.
“Through this book, I aim for readers to gain a profound understanding of the consistent efforts and achievements that maintain Sarawak’s stability and advancement,” he said during the launching of the two books held at Dewan Santapan, Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex here last night.
Abang Johari also hoped the publication of these books will pave the way, inspire and spark ideas for more book publications in Sarawak, as collections like these are valuable treasures of the state that must be preserved for the present and future generations.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the publication of the books, especially the photographers, researchers and editorial team who had diligently worked to ensure that each page captures the essence of the Head of State’s services.
“Special appreciation is also extended to Tun Pehin Sri and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, their family, and the Astana Negeri Sarawak’s staff, particularly Tun’s Senior Private Secretary Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, for their openness and cooperation in bringing this publication to fruition.
